Home Reports and Property Assessments
Green Refurb currently offer two
types of report; the Green Home Report™ for individual
householders and the BRE EcoHomes XB assessment for
professional landlords.
From the autumn of 2008 we will
also offer Code for Sustainable Homes assessment for
property developers and architects.
The Green Home Report™
To help you take the first step
to a warmer, greener future, we are pleased to offer individual
householders a bespoke Green Home Report™ outlining many of the steps that
could be taken to make your particular home more energy efficient
and environmentally friendly.
Our report is based on the
requirements necessary for the implementation of the Code
for Sustainable Homes and includes many factors not included
in a standard Energy Performance Certificate. Amongst these
are suitability for the installation of renewable energy
sources (micro-generation), the availability of parking for
bicycles, possibilities for grey water recycling, green
roofs, rainwater harvesting etc.
Our visit takes around an hour
to complete and your report is the either hand-delivered or
posted to you within 5 working days.
You should find that you can
painlessly complete many of our recommendations yourself. Of course, if
you decide you'd like some help with a larger project, we'll
be happy to provide you with a quote - but you're under no
obligation whatsoever.
Each Green Home Report™ costs
£50 and is entirely bespoke for your property. We are also
happy to discuss and advise on any areas that particularly
interest you whilst on the premises.
Simply
to give us your
name, postcode and a daytime telephone number and we'll be
back in touch straight away.
EcoHomes XB - The
environmental assessment method for existing housing
EcoHomes XB has been
developed by BRE in conjunction with the Housing
Corporation, to allow stock holders of existing housing to
assess and monitor the environmental performance of their
stock. This facilitates the tracking of improvements made
during routine maintenance and minor refurbishment and
provides a constant monitor of performance against a
benchmark figure. It also helps to highlight areas that
require attention and helps prioritise maintenance and
refurbishment works.
EcoHomes XB provides the
method and gives a tool to assist and guide in the
improvement of environmental performance whilst recognising
the restraints and practicalities facing existing housing.
Unlike other BREEAM schemes,
EcoHomes XB doesn’t give a rating of PASS, GOOD, VERY GOOD
& EXCELLENT but is based on a single score allowing stock
holders to benchmark their initial performance and then to
set realistic targets leading up to an eventual goal. With
the potential to raise the environmental performance of 4
million homes and the living conditions of residents,
EcoHomes XB could have a significant impact on helping
improve the country’s social housing stock.
